It will take some 2.5-3 hours to drive west of Ulaanbaatar. Overnights: The Gers (traditional housing) in tourist camp have 2-4 beds in each, and they are furnished with bed, chair and a table. WC and showers are in communal shower blocks.
The Mongolian Government declared Hustai National Park (HNP) as a Specially Protected Area in 1993, and the place where reintroduced Przewalski’s horse (by Mongolian’s called Takhi) to the Hustain Nuruu. In 2002, the Man and the Biosphere Reserves organization of UNESCO certified the HNP as a member of the world biosphere network of natural reserves. The national park is rolling steppe mountains with rather large patches of birch and aspen forests. There are also visible remains of Neolithic graves. In addition Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) and Wolf (Canis lupus) have increased quite a bit during the last few years, as well as Mongolian gazelle.
